Engineering Corner

Engineers and engineering students asking questions, solving real engineering problems and sharing new ideas.

Engineering Corner is the JobEng community for engineers and engineering students: ask questions, post real engineering problems for others to solve, and share ideas and innovations to get honest feedback. Civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, building services, aerospace, chemical, software, CAD and BIM, site and construction, study and careers.

How it works

  • Ask a question — anything from punching shear to BS 7671 to UCAS. Tick “AI first answer” to get a labelled first reply while engineers answer.
  • Post an engineering problem — describe what is happening, the numbers and what you have tried; the person who posted picks the best answer.
  • Share an idea — a better detail, a tool, a product, a process. Members vote for ideas they find useful and say what to test next.
  • Real members only — first name, initial and job title; no e-mail addresses. Posts reported by members are hidden. Posts appear on this site only when the author chooses.

Replying, voting and posting happen in the JobEng app (free on every plan). Open Learning → Engineering Corner, or Engineering Corner on your professional home screen.

Engineering Corner posts are written by JobEng members — engineers and engineering students — and shown here only when the author chose to make them public. They are opinions and general guidance, not professional advice for your project: check designs with a competent engineer and the current standards. AI first answers are marked and can be wrong. Members report anything unsafe or unkind; reported posts are taken off this site. To ask for a post to be removed, e-mail info@jobeng.ai. Sesysy Ltd, company number 15828843, Leicester.
